The Flamingo Hotel opened on the [[Strip]] in 1946. In 1947, the name was changed to the Fabulous Flamingo. In 1972, it was purchased by the Hilton Hotel chain and renamed the Flamingo Hilton. In 1999, it became the Flamingo Las Vegas.
