Originally the brain child of former casino owner and professional gambler Bob Stupak, the Stratosphere Tower is the tallest structure in Las Vegas. Stupak owned the casino Vegas World. He wanted to build the tower to attract gamblers to his casino. Lack of funds caused him to give up the casino, and it was purchased by a consortium and turned into the Stratosphere.
